# Create a New Gallery

#### When to Create a New Gallery

Create and pair a new gallery with a new preset any time you're managing a new standalone event. This helps keep each event distinct and organized.

* **Public Gallery**: Allows participants to browse and share photos from the specific event they attended, without mixing in photos from other events.
* **Private/Unlisted Gallery**: Facilitates easily sharing a single gallery link or downloaded copies with your client, avoiding the hassle of sorting pictures from various events.

**This is a good fit for:**

* Weddings
* Birthdays and private parties
* One-off corporate events
* Client events where photos should stay separated

#### Creating a new gallery

While creating a new preset, you will be prompted to link it to an online gallery.

1. [Create your preset](/virtual-booth-setup/basic-setup/create-a-preset.md), then advance to the gallery settings.
 * The system will default to creating a new gallery using the same name as the preset.
2. Before saving, you can update the gallery name (guests will see the gallery name) and choose a privacy level.
3. Save your preset & gallery pair, and advance to the preset settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.simplebooth.com/virtual-booth-setup/basic-setup/pair-a-gallery/create-a-new-gallery.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
