Wireless Connection Steps (Older Cameras)
If your Sony is an A9 II, A7R IV, A7C, ZV-E10, ZV-1, use this guide to connect the app wirelessly to your camera.
Any time you move to a new Wi-Fi network, you must follow the full setup steps to reestablish the link between your camera and the iPad. If you have already paired your devices and are staying on the same network, you can bypass the full process by following the "Using a Known Camera" instructions below.
Connecting a New Camera
If you haven't used your Sony camera with our app before, there are additional steps to take to establish the connection.
Connect your camera to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad.
Navigate to MENU → [Network] → [Wi-Fi Settings]
Open [Access Point Set.] and connect to the nearby access point.
Configure the [PC Remote Function]
Navigate to MENU → [Network] → [PC Remote Function]
Set [PC Remote] to [On]
Set [PC Remote Cnct Method] to [Wi-Fi Access Point]
Open the [Paring] menu.
The camera should show up in the HALO app. Tap Connect, then confirm pairing on the camera’s screen.
HALO connects to the camera, and it is ready to go.
When establishing a connection after pairing fails, disable [PC Remote] on the camera, then enable it. Then try to connect again.
Using a Known Camera
To use a camera that has already been paired with HALO at least once:
Open the Camera Manager in the Halo app.
On the camera, navigate to MENU → [Network] → [PC Remote Function] and set [PC Remote] to [On].
When the camera appears in the Halo app, tap Connect.
