# iPad Recommendations

Choosing the right iPad is essential for a smooth event experience. While Simple Booth is designed to be efficient, certain hardware specifications will provide better performance and photo quality.

***

#### WiFi vs. Cellular

We recommend an iPad with Wi-Fi only.

While Simple Booth apps work perfectly with cellular-enabled iPads, the Wi-Fi only version is often more practical and cost-effective. If you are managing multiple units or need to print, it is generally more reliable to run your event over a local Wi-Fi network or a dedicated mobile hotspot rather than relying on individual cellular chips.

#### iPad Storage Capacity

For most users, 16GB of disk space is sufficient. Because Simple Booth syncs photos to your online [galleries](/copy-of-halo-app/basic-setup/pair-a-gallery.md), local storage needs are minimal.

However, you should consider a model with more storage if you plan to take a high volume of photos and want to save them directly to the iPad.

#### Camera Quality

Using a newer iPad with an improved front-facing camera will result in higher-quality photos. You can compare the front-facing camera specifications for all current models on [Apple’s website](http://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/).

Keep in mind that while the camera sensor is important, [lighting](/hardware-and-gear/lighting/simple-booth-halo-r.md) often plays a bigger role in final image quality than the camera hardware itself.

#### HALO Hardware Compatibility

If you are using or considering Simple Booth HALO hardware, your choice of iPad is restricted by the physical dimensions of the [device](https://app.simplebooth.com/devices).

You must use a specific 11" iPad Pro model to ensure a proper fit within the HALO enclosure. Always verify your iPad's generation and dimensions before purchasing to ensure it is compatible with your hardware.
