Printing Guide
Formatting your prints for a polished end result has been simplified with our new Print Layout Designer.
Print layouts are based on your digital layout and can be customized for printed photos without affecting the digital version.
When you open the Layout Designer, you’ll first see your digital layout. Use the tab at the top of the page to switch to your print layout.
If you don’t have a print layout yet, you’ll be prompted to create one.
If you already have a print layout saved, you can open it to make edits.
When a print layout is saved, a printer icon appears in the top-right corner of the layout thumbnail in your preset settings. Tap the icon to toggle between the digital and print previews.
Creating a Print Layout
Start by selecting a print size that matches your printer paper. Common sizes range from 2x6 to 8x6.
For the best results, your digital layout’s aspect ratio should closely match your selected paper size, or be easy to adapt
After choosing a size, your layout elements will appear on the canvas formatted to that paper size.
Reformatting Print Layouts
Use the same tools available in the Layout Designer to adjust your print layout. A few ways to refine your design:
Make minimal adjustments to ensure elements are framed and sized correctly on your printouts.
Add a QR code that appears only on prints, so participants can scan to visit your site.
Remove certain elements (like logos or overlays) for the print version, giving participants a cleaner photo to take home while keeping your digital layout more branded or stylized.
Duplicating Photo Strips
This feature is coming soon.
Automatically duplicate side-by-side photo strips so they are better-formatted to print to standard paper sizes.
Testing Print Formatting
Dialing in your print formatting may take a few test runs. At the top of the Print Designer, use the printer icon to connect to your printer and make quick test prints as you adjust settings.
If you select a printer within the layout editor, that printer will automatically be used when you launch the booth — no need to reselect it later.
