Exposure Differences Between Photos and Videos
Applies to Canon EOS R100, EOS R50, EOS R10, and all Canon cameras with no dedicated photo/movie mode selector switch.
If your preset includes both photo and video capture, make sure the same exposure mode is used in both.
Turn on the camera.
Switch to Movie Mode using the dial.
In the top-left corner, set the exposure mode to “Movie (P).”
Turn the dial back to “P.”
Flash Not Firing for Every Frame in Live GIFs
After firing, flashes require a short recovery time before they can fire again.
Recovery time varies by model. For Live GIFs, choose a flash with a recovery time faster than 0.2 seconds.
To improve consistency, switch your flash to manual mode and start with a lower flash output.
Preview Image Oriented Incorrectly
Applies to Canon EOS R100 and some older Canon DSLRs.
Some cameras lack an orientation sensor, meaning they can’t detect vertical or horizontal positioning. If preview images appear rotated incorrectly, use the camera in a horizontal orientation.
Captured Videos Not Oriented Correctly
Applies to Canon EOS R50, EOS R7, EOS R6 Mark II, and similar models.
If vertical videos are captured horizontally, ensure the “Add movie rotate info” feature is enabled:
Turn on the camera.
Press Menu to open settings.
Go to the Wrench Tab → Page 1.
Set “Add movie rotate info” to “Enable.”
Frozen Camera Preview
If the preview image freezes, ensure no camera menus or exposure mode guides are open. Half-press the shutter button to return to the live preview.
App Switched to iPad Camera
If an unrecoverable error occurs (for example, due to overheating) the app automatically switches to the iPad camera so you can continue your session without interruption. Once the DSLR cools down and reconnects, you can re-enable it through the Camera Manager.
