Start Screen

Between sessions, the app rests on a “tap to start” screen. The start screen tells participants how to begin and sets the visual tone for the booth.

You can use a default screen, apply a Simple Booth theme, or upload a custom graphic, depending on your plan.

Default Start Screen

The default start screen displays a simple “tap to start” message so participants know how to begin their session.

Themes

Themes are pre-made graphic designs created by Simple Booth. They include coordinated visuals for common holidays and occasions.

Themes can also be applied to photo layouts for a consistent look across the entire experience.

Add a Theme

  1. Open Start Screen settings card.

  2. Select Choose Theme to open the theme browser.

  3. Browse available themes and preview their start screen designs.

  4. Save your selection.

Custom Start Screen

Upload a fully custom start screen for a unique look. Still frames or videos are supported.

Add a Custom Start Screen

  1. Determine the correct size: Open Start Screen settings in the app to see the required dimensions for your iPad model. If you don't have your iPad, see the sizing note below.

  2. Create your design: Design your start screen in a separate graphics program. Be sure to include text instructing participants to tap the screen to start.

  3. Import your design: Upload the finished graphic to the start screen card settings.

    • Landscape: long side × short side (example: 2,752 × 2,064)
