# Use an existing preset

#### When to Reuse a Preset

Reusing an existing preset is ideal in these scenarios:

* **Permanent Installations**: For consistent booth experiences.
* **Ongoing or Multi-location Activations**: When graphics and settings remain unchanged.
* **Repeat Use Cases**: To intentionally collect photos together.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Avoid reusing presets for unrelated events. This practice can lead to confusion as photos from the ongoing event might get mixed up with those from the copied event. Instead, [make a copy](/customization-guide/basic-setup/create-a-preset/copying-presets.md).
{% endhint %}

#### Reusing a preset

You can reuse or edit any preset at any time. Changes save automatically and can be updated right up until (or even during) your event.

1. Sign into your Simple Booth account in app or online
2. Select the [**Presets**](https://app.simplebooth.com/) tab in the top navigation
3. Select the title of the preset you want to edit

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't see the preset you're looking for, it may have been archived or deleted. \
\
Archived presets must be recovered from your online [dashboard](https://app.simplebooth.com). Deleted presets cannot be recovered.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.simplebooth.com/customization-guide/basic-setup/create-a-preset/use-an-existing-preset.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
